Hey readers, Dan here with a scammer that one of our new rookies Agent Kat alerted me of. Today we have another scammer doing the "gift me something good and I gift something back" scam - coolstuff587.

They started off by saying that if you gifted them something good, they would give you a "good surprise" and were so desperate that they prefaced it by saying it wasn't a scam ("PLZZ GIFT ME SOMETHING GOOD FOR A GOOD SURPRISE PLZ NOT A SCAM"). I tried to ask them why they couldn't just trade, but they ignored me numerous times. Other people nearby were gifting them and one person even said they gave them a storebought item ("he did gift back but its store bought").

I tried to cover their nametag and started spamming SCAMMER SCAMMER SCAMMER to try and get their attention and they finally paid attention. They acted confused and started asking if I was talking to them. I asked them again but they went right back to advertising their scam. After repeating that, they a) didn't answer my question, and b) started getting unnecessarily defensive.

They started yelling that they were going to quit this game because of me ("YOU ARE MAKING MY LIFE HARD I AM GOING TO QUIT THIS GAME") even though all I had done so far was ask them a question and get impatient when they ignored me. They finally answered my initial question, but it was with the lamest excuse I have ever seen ("BECAUSE ITS HARD").

When I tried to question them further, they ignored me again and started going on about how nobody likes them. I mean, it could be because you're a scammer, but don't take my word for it.

They even tried to bribe me (I think?) by sending me their candy cane horns, and if that doesn't show how ill-prepared this person was to defend themselves, I don't know what will.

After awhile, they left, but soon came to my den to start yelling at me in all caps again. They mostly went on and on about how they weren't a scammer, but once again ignored me when I asked why I should believe they aren't.

The most interesting thing they said would be when they claimed they had too many Jam-A-Grams in their inbox and they couldn't deal with every single one ("I HAD ALOT OF LETTERS I CANT HANDLE EVERY SLINGER ONE"). Take this to mean whatever you will. After that, they made more bogus accusations that they were quitting the game because of me and then they left.
Please report them for scamming.

Verdict: Attempted Scamming

  1. People still actually scam in Animal Jam? How sad.

  2. Chimmychow is a scammer, she is indirect contact with a scammer, who took my friends Blue Headress!

    1. Please read our FAQ. We cannot post people without evidence of them scamming and I'd prefer if you didn't post names here without anything to back up your claims.
